Footnotes from the NIV bible -
God created us, knows us and loves us. It only makes sense, then, to listen to his instructions and do what he says. The Bible is his unfailing word to us. It is like an owner's manual for a car. If you obey God's instructions, you will 'run right' and find his kind of power to live. If you, ignore them, you will have breakdowns, accidents, and failures.
May we all find and hold on to HIM.

The secret of our inefficiency for God is that we do not believe what he tells us about prayer. Prayer is not rational but REDEMPTIVE. Little books of prayers are full of 'BUTS'. The new testament says that God will answer prayer EVERY TIME. The POINT is NOT - will you believe? - but - will I, who know Jesus Christ, believe on your behalf (see 1 John 5:14-16) (caps are mine)

HUMILITY is not an ideal, it is the UNCONSCIOUS result of the life being RIGHTLY relate to God (caps mine)

Quiet trust in God is the state of mind and heart that is fittest to do the duty that lies nearest without ANY fluster.

Meditate in the Word of God and He will keep your paths straight.

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
1 Peter 3:1-4 (NIV) a must to read...
4)Instead it should be that of your inner self the unfading beauty of a GENTLE and QUIET spirit, which is of great WORTH in God's sight.

March 3, 2010 - Happy Wednesday!
In gladness and in sadness just remember -
Psalm 63:1-8 (NIV)
O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you, my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.
I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and glory.
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods, with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
On my bed I remember you, I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings to you, your right hand upholds me.
